After 10 yrs of a 5th wheel, finally upgraded to a class A. Have a 2003 Fleetwood Discovery 39C with a 330hp Cat. Have not yet had a chance to get it out on the road and was wondering if anyone out there has the same or similar model and can give me some idea of how many MPG to expect? I understand the 39C was a limited production model and there are not many more out there but I would imagine that most 39 ft Fleetwood Discoverys with a 330 hp cat get around the same mileage.

boblew, welcome to iRV2.com. We are glad to have you join us here and we look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences.
I do not have the same set up but my guess would be between 8 - 9 mpg. Good luck and enjoy the forum.

Depending on how fast you drive 7-7.5 is all you can hope for. JMO

If you keep the speed down you should be able to get 8-9. I can get that in my 2004 American Tradition (40 feet, 38k lbs with the toad on the back) when I hold the speed to 60-62. Otherwise you are likely to quickly fall to the 7.5 range. Or less.

A friends 36 foot Beaver with the 330 Cat gets 8+ if he is careful and 7+ if he isn't.
