Flippin slide

My bedroom slide on the drivers side flips up when ever we open/close. If someone sits on the bed it stays down and seats ok when opening and closes properly. Looking for ideas as to why it flips up.

Is the bed platform coming up or is something happening to the slide out itself?

I had that happen with one of my bedroom slides. Seems the Girard topper had a nylon bead coming out that was catching and stopping the slide top from coming in, then it would break lose and the slide would bounce HARD. Hard enough to break one of the adjusters.

Gramps,

It is a combination of both, ther bed flips up and the actual slide also tilts top out, then when putting out flips back into the vertical when fully opened. Upon closing the top tilts out, bed comes up until l fully closed then it comes back into the correct position.

Are you sure it isn't supposed to tilt out while moving? Both my slides begin their movement (both in and out) by tilting out slightly and then level out at the end of the travel. Keeps the lip from dragging on the floor.

I am sure that it shouldn't flip up as much as it does. I have owned this coach for about 4 years and it didn't do this this until recently. When I say flip up, I mean the foot of the bed rises at least 4 feet off of the floor and the top of the slide opens accordingly. The first time it did it I thought the slide was going to come out. Scared the you know what out of me.
if some sits on the bed when operating everything works fine, so it seems to me that something has become unhooked underneath but I have looked and cannot see anything obvious.

I really hope you mean 4 inches, otherwise

Maybe you have a crushed roller or something that is causing the bottom of the slide to hang up, the top keeps going and then the bottom moves across whatever is stopping it. I would be afraid to keep using it, you don't want to push down on the bed, and you don't want to damage the top either. Hopefully an inspection under the bed and under the slide will point to something obviously wrong.
