I'd be curious as to how much they give you and how they determine the amount.
I did a brief search on the internet and saw prices for a 1999 Diplomat from $18,000 to $55,000
1999 Monaco Diplomat 38A - RV for Sale in Colorado Springs, CO (ID:108050) $18,000
RVs For Sale : Recreational Vehicles For Sale : Motorhomes For Sale $55,000

We got 2 inches of rain here. There was 12" unexpected rain up the dam in Wimberley which made the river swell to a raging stream

Make that 15" overnight in Wimberley. The river crested at 26 feet just after midnight. Flood stage is 13 feet. Before the rain started the river level was 3-1/2 feet. I know because I live on the river, luckily on a bluff. The weather forecast had been 2-3 inches. Sorry it got you Danny. Several RVs flooded in parks here in town. A number of homes as well.
Good Luck,
WM

Let us know what they do with it. Given the age, I would actually be surprised if the didn't write it off.
I know of 6 year old DP that was driven into a fresh water retention pond - water up to the top of the front wheels but the back wheels, engine, etc were not in the water. Damage was pretty much limited to bottom of front cap (about up to headlights), generator was gone (actually came off the rails during the impact), driver side front wheel bent, entry steps torn off and compartment under drivers seat (with chassis electronics) was significantly damaged and a bit of damage on rear cap from wrecker pulling it out. Still running and driveable (after front wheel replaced and some of the wires of chassis electrical under driver's seat reconnected). Value at the time of accident was probably around $100k+ and not only was it written off and declared salvage, it was branded non-repairable.

I would go for a total loss. Water can cause damage that doesn't show up for a while, and after the claim is settled you probably couldn't go back on them for more money. It would be difficult if not impossible to prove to them that water caused a problem that didn't show up for 6 months, so you could set yourself up for major expense down the road. JMHO

Here is an update to the thread. I said I would let y'all know what the insurance decided to do and here it is:
Yesterday I received a phone call of Liberty Mutual with the results of the adjuster.
Liberty Mutual has cut me a check for almost $49,000. They do not go with book value. They hire an external firm to evaluate the value.
They look at what similar coaches are sold for in the area and take average price.
I am very happy with the services Liberty Mutual provided and am now looking for a new coach.
Thanks you all for your input and advise
Danny

Glad to hear that all worked out well! Now the 'fun' begins of looking for another MH. It can be fun and who knows, you might end up with one that is real nice!

So that was close to what you thought the value was?
Good for you and thanks for the update.

I have to assume they gave you more than you thought it was worth?

Thanks for the updates, but: good "stunned" or bad "stunned" ?
Did you come out better or worse than you hoped?
