The biggest thing is, if you are going to do something radical, you have to take advantage of the difference. You can't be different just for the sake of being different. You have to take advantage of the difference to offer something that could not otherwise be done. If done right, you could make the slide meet in the middle. Offset the front of the slides, so you have a zig-zag entrance when the slides are closed.
