That little stick thingy on the left side of your steering wheel... thats the turn signal lever which will indicate which way you will be turning.
The far left lane on the road.... thats the fast lane, not meant for sight seeing.

I heard it was best not to use your signal, because the guy behind might try to pass before you slow down to turn

kind of like chevy's and fords. we have tried both FL. and South Texas and enjoyed both. it depends on what you like to do for fun. if you like jam sessions, Texas. if you like golf, Fl. by the way I do not think the winds in Texas are as bad as some people say. you really do need to try both to see what fits you. if you do go to Texas I would suggest going all the way south to the valley.
