Ford 460 compatibility

Hi everyone, I have a 95 Winnebago Adventurer with a blown ford 460 engine. Two questions- 1- will any ford 460 built in the same era 92-97 directly mount into my rv? 2- If so, do I need to change the cam to an RV cam if the used motor comes out of something like an F250 pickup truck? Thank you for all help and advice.

Welcome to iRV2.

Sorry you're here with problems .

I'm not 100% sure on the camshaft differences between your 95 RV and the trucks of that vintage , but engine mounts, exhaust port spacing and bell housing should all be the same. I've heard that a change of the 460 into a vehicle that came with a 429 was a straightforward swap, so I'm thinking Ford didn't change much over the years.
Had more involvement with 260/289/302/& 351 C than the big engines , I'll check around to see if I can get exact info.

The engine will swap straight in. Depending on donor year there will probably be differences in accessories, wiring harnesses, and other small bits.

You have a 1995 or 1994 model year engine, it uses speed density, a big table of math that calculates how much fuel the engine needs based on barometric pressure and rpm. If you use a different cam then you have to add a chip to reprogram the ecu for the proper specs so it can calculate fuel needed. If you use a 96 or newer engine it will have a MAF sensor to meter the intake air, you'd have to swap over a few other parts including the computer but that would allow you to run any cam without reprogramming.
