Hi.
We bought a 2008 fleetwood southwind 32v. I keep seeing every one talking about theirs on a f53 chassis. I was looking at my paper woork and mine is on a 2007 f550 chassis? What if any is the difference?
Thanks for the info.

The Ford paper work that came with My 1999 also is for a F550. My VIN number says F53. I don't beleve there is realy much differance between the two. You can get an F550 cab and chassis which a lot of companys build roll back tow trucks on, or a striped chassis "F53" that is the motorhome chassis. Maybe someone else has more and better info than I have.

F53 is the designation of the motorhome version of the F550 chassis. I suspect if you decode your VIN it will specify F53 or motorhome, but the basic drive train, frame, etc. is indeed F550.

This website should decode a Ford Vin for you: Decode This
