Smile Ford F53 Performance Chip

Hello:

Looking for information on a Brazels Rv Ultra Performance programming chip.
Would to see if anyone has installed the program and what performance increase they had. Any info would be appreciated before I purchase.

I have a 2009 Ford F53 Newmar Canyon Star with ford V-10

Thanks

Most people seem to go with the 5 Star Tune. Have you looked into that?

How does the 5 Star help? Also, is it a actual "chip" or device that is installed or is the engine modified in some way? I have seen ads, but not sure of the advantages. I have a Triton F53, V10 on a 22K chassis. It seems to do well on hills, I'm not expecting DP performance, but it seems sufficient. Thanks

5 Star is a program that loads onto the chassis computer. Plug it into the ODB port, back up the original program, then upload the new program.

On my 22k chassis it now has more power and a much improved shifting pattern. Cruise control behaves better now with the new program (also called a tune).

5 Star here. Much improved shifting pattern - now does not downshift at the hint of an incline.

I went with the 5star and I'm extremely happy with the results. It runs better all the way around. Does everything they claimed IMO.

I'm with the rest, 5-Star improves the whole driving experience as compared to the stock programming from Ford. I did the Banks headers and exhaust on a 2002 Itasca 32V which was excellent, but expensive. That had the 2 valve V-10. Motorhomes with the current 3 valve v-10 engine 5 star tuning is all you need. I installed the tune right from the start with our current 2012 Winnebago 33C Sightseer.

I had a 5 Star in my 11 Bounder V-10. Improved HP over the entire RPM range. I agree with everyone comments above. Does improve shifting on acceleration. Reduces shifting on every hill. Increased MPG if I keep my foot off the floor. See my classified.

I'll chime in also, 5 star does what they advertise. Better shifting and I'm now in OD on the highway, instead of 4th. I get about the same mileage but with more power at lower RPMs. I don't know anything about the Brazel's chip, but I like being able to return my computer to stock when bring it in for maintenance.

I suggest you read the multiple threads / comments under "5 Star Tune" in the Ford Chassis section of this forum

What's the story with the 5 Star Tune and the drive train warrantee?

What about EPA especially in California?
