Ford flex adaptive cruise control, blue ox problem

More Blue Ox problems

First they had to send three base plates before one even came close to fitting my 2014 Ford Flex. Even #3 required me to force it to fit.

Now the ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL (ACC) does not work. I took it to Ford, paid $1,500 and they removed and replaced the base plate and ACC module. Still does not work and Ford states the base plate is the problem.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Try a baseplate from another manufacturer, Blue Ox isn't the only game in town. Roadmaster or Demco may be substantially different than the Blue Ox design. Call the companies and ask before you order.

How could a base plate have anything to do with cruise control?

Apples and oranges but I have ACC on my Cherokee (which is awesome) and my Roadmaster base plate does not interfere with it. Now if i hook up the cross bar arrangement etc then it's blocked.

Good luck!

Only Roadmaster for me, heard of too many failures with Blue Ox.
Base plate is probably interfering with the sensors for ACC. On the bumper.

The baseplate could be blocking the sensors used by the adaptive cruise control.

Have you contacted Blue Ox? If this is the case they may have a modified baseplate design. They should at least be able to confirm that the baseplate is the problem.

I have a 2017 Fusion Sport with Blue Ox baseplate and everything (adaptive cruise control, self-parking sensors, etc.) works with the baseplate installed.
