They could have let you just take it, and let you deal with it. I think it is positive that they want your RV right before you own it. And a loaner this weekend - that says "customer service" to me.
Thank you TGR. I agree. General RV's customer service is good. I'm impressed they agreed to give us a loaner for the weekend. We are frustrated and not sure where to direct the frustration. Ford and the federal government are the likely culprits. Federal regulations won't allow a dealer to release a vehicle when the vehicle is the subject of a safety recall. I guess we're not bright enough to figure out what gear a vehicle is in without a red indicator pointing to one of the letters, "PRNDL." I wonder how I ever drove a stick shift?

Once the dealer acknowledge the recall he ordered the part and 2 days later he called me to have it installed
Your RV dealer sounds like a great dealership, GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I wish I had the same here in NJ. Camping World "Sucks"

The dealer can't promise us when we can take delivery. Needless to say, we are not happy. In fairness to General RV, they are giving us a loaner for this weekend since we had plans.

I'm suspicious whether this is a back order or a dealer oversight. Has anyone had any luck getting the recall taken care of in the last few days?

Thank you
Our dealer, General RV in Wayland, Michigan came through for us. They worked the phones, found the repair kit and had our ACE in the shop Friday morning. We were able to take the inaugural trip in our new motor home as planned. I give General RV an A+ in the customer service category.
