Ford recall

Anyone get a recall about 2011 Ford chassis having something to do with the shift lever not showing the right gear? I called a local dealer a month and a half ago and they still don't have the part. The closest dealer couldn't get my 30' motor home in. Another said they could go up to 33 ft.

There is a discussion about this on the Ford Chassis board... http://www.irv2.com/forums/f23/ford-...is-114871.html

We have not heard from the commercial truck dealership that supposedly ordered our parts a month ago. Guess I need to call them AGAIN.

I talked to Ford because the RV Dealer didn't register our Georgetown with Ford and in thei records it still belonged to Ford. They asked had the recall been done? She told she would check with the the Ford dealer and make sure they got the parts.

I received the recall notice about two weeks ago. I called the local Ford dealer and they were aware of the recall. They ordered the part whch came in about a week ago. I took the Challenger to the dealership's large truck repair facility in the morning at 8 AM, and the dealership called me about 10AM to tell me it was ready. Good service and a quick, uneventful trip to the dealership. The timing was good, since I had to get the motor home out of mothballs for the upcoming trip to Maine for the summer.

Yes I received the same recall. My dealer didn't know anything about it.

I got the notice. Called Winnebago to get the windshield replaced which got a rock chip spreading with less than a 1000 miles on rig last fall but wanted to wait till we got home and take it to the factory for replacement. Asked if they new about the recall and if they could do it. They said yes they could all in less than a week from when I got the notice till it was all done. Great service in Forest City.

GJHD. I would suggest that you locate a Ford dealership that sells and services larger trucks. Since this is a safety recall, all Ford dealerships should be in "the loop", but some dealerships won't or can't service large vehicles. Good luck with your recall.

Just did mine for my Fleetwood Bounder Classic. Took the dealership about 3 hours to complete. All in all pretty painless.

Part Back Ordered

We closed a deal at General RV near Grand Rapids, Michigan on April 23rd for a slightly used 2012 Thor ACE. The dealer said we could take delivery on Saturday April 28th. We received a phone call two days before delivery from the dealer telling us we couldn't have the motorhome because of the recall and the parts are on back order. The dealer can't promise us when we can take delivery. Needless to say, we are not happy. In fairness to General RV, they are giving us a loaner for this weekend since we had plans.

I'm suspicious whether this is a back order or a dealer oversight. Has anyone had any luck getting the recall taken care of in the last few days?

Thank you

I would believe their back-order statement. I have called a local dealer a few times to get mine addressed, and have been told it is on back-order.

They could have let you just take it, and let you deal with it. I think it is positive that they want your RV right before you own it. And a loaner this weekend - that says "customer service" to me.
