Chuck,

I think you will be really happy with the upgrade, I know I am. I changed my Bilsteins with less than 5,000 miles on them and it made the ride livable for me and the DW. Ended up selling my slightly used shocks on Craigslist for a little cash.

Bilsteins are not bad and lots of people love them; I've got them on my truck and like them, they just were not well suited for us on the motorhome.

Please report back after the change and a ride and let us know what you think.

I replaced my set of shocks (Bilstein) last year on our motorhome and it made a marked improvement on how it rode. That said there is still the lean factor when you are going around corners and that is because of the anti-sway bars. If you have the feeling of leaning to far while cornering then you may want to consider upgrading the sway bars on your rig. If I decide to keep mine that will be the next item to install. Good Luck....

Thanks Silverfox, I did the CHF (Cheap Handling Fix), well Super Dave (Whem2Fish) did it and made an incredible improvement in the handling and maneuverability of the coach.

I'm excited to see what the new shocks will do to her ride and performance.

Thanks!

Kent

I was able to order bilsteins off of amazon for a good price. They improved the ride but that lean into corners is still there. Decided to add a rear trac bar and have yet to test drive it yet. Noticed a bad bushing on the rear sway bar so I should probably fix it. Not sure where to get a comparable bushing though. Ford 22k chassis.

Thanks, I have less then 10,000 on my Bilsteins. Everything I've read about Koni's they should make a difference in the ride.

Flapbreaker,

If your sway bars are factory then upgrading should get you beefier (thicker) sway bars. Seems the factory versions don't always help that much and have more give than something you can buy now for your rig. Might be worth checking out....

I installed KONI FSD shocks and the performance is outstanding. These shocks are worth every dime I spent on them.

The picture on the web site is incorrect, P/N is correct. Going to replace the Bilstein's on front that have less then 10k on them. Got the web site from another member on the CHF discussion.

Chuck
What kind of price did you get them for? I see Jegs has the fronts for $328 with free shipping.

They were $119.90 each with free shipping for the fronts. Just checked their site, they don't show the price anymore and says to call for availability. They still show the rears 8805-1019 for $119.90.
