Ford V-10 Chassis Bilstein or Monroe Shocks?
I'm going to replace the shocks on my now 10+ year old Motorhome.
Monroe Gas Shocks are 100 less than the Bilsteins.
Experienced only:
MONROE OR BILSTEIN?
I'm looking for ride and anti-sway performance as the top two items here.
Thanks!

IMHO,
If they make them for your model year and if you truly mean "ride and anti-sway performance as the top two items here", then you will want Koni FSD shocks.
Best upgrade I've done to improve ride and comfort.

We're on the Koni bandwagon as well...The FDS's did wonders for our W-22 chassis.

I've experienced Koni and Bilstein, they are both very good and subject to personal opinion. Right now my RV has Bilsteins and are giving a much improved ride. I wouldn't buy Monroe shocks, you get what you pay for. There's a reason they are cheaper, in my opinion! On every vehicle I've owned, I've replaced Monroe shocks as soon as possible.

Koni is the only way to go they are great. I put them on our 2000 AreBus it's like driving a new one.

I have replace my originals with Bilstein both times. The seem to work well and lasted a long time.

Well to answer the OP's question I went with Monroes on the front. I felt that the Bilsteins were way too stiff for the chassis. The Monroes do provide a softer ride. With the Bilsteins I felt like I was driving a rock truck. Now I have read somewhere that new Bilsteins have been reprogrammed or revalved for a better ride. Perhaps someone on here has experience with newer Bilsteins. Unfortunately I don't.

I went with Bilsteins and have no regrets. Now I need to weigh the 4 corners and adjust the tire pressure.

For our 2000 coach on the Ford F53 chassis the Koni FSD shocks work extremely well in providing a more comfortable ride even on harsh road surfaces. Yes, they're more expensive, but for me they were well worth the cost for the ride improvement of our coach.
Safe travels to all

I say that because many (or all) Allegro F53 owners have reported on the Tiffin forum that the Koni FSD's are much smoother than the now stock Bilstein's, particularly the owner's who drive the harsh joints on the CA freeways. Koni's are on my 2-do list when I find $700 laying around the house.
