Forest River Charleston

I have a chance to buy a 2005 low mileage 40' Forest River Charleston, for a very tempting low price. I've never seen a Charleston (just pictures), and need some input as to what quality area this coach would fall into. I've heard and read some very negative comments regarding Forest River Class A's, e.g. Roof problems, windshield problems, poor fit & finish etc.. Just as troubling if not moreso, it appears that the manufacturer is quite unresponsive. I need your comments and advice.

that can be said about all brands
look on the web pick a brand look for brag posts then complaint posts
complaints always get more traction

That may be, but FR is an entry level builder with very low quality. You could luck out and get a good FR product but why take the chance ?

Interesting take on Forest River, but I think you may be looking at old stats. We've got a Forest River Berkshire and have had very few problems. Those that have occurred have been dealt with swiftly and to our satisfaction by Forest River. One of my clients just bought a 2007 Charleston and has the same comments. Some of the more recent ratings have Forest River moving up in the customer satisfaction ratings. Ever since Warren Buffet bought the company the quality seems to be going up.
