Freedom awning is possesed!

Every time we leave on a trip we check the awning on our 2014 Thor Tuscany and it works then when we get to our destination it won't work. Take it back to repair place they fix it and then the pattern starts all over again. Last trip, first day it didn't work Next day it did but as pilot and I were talking about the auto shut feature for high winds the dang thing proceeded to shut all by itself and would not come back out. It's a Freedom Freestyle. Anyone had experienced with this possessed brand?

I had my wind sensor removed and now I am strictly manual. Sounds like you have a bad sensor and it is closing the awning. It also is keeping it from opening. Try to by-pass the sensor see if that helps.

Somewhere there should be a switch to turn off the auto shut feature. Turn this feature off and over the next couple of trips see if the awning opens/closes as it should. If it works as advertised, the feature needs to be repaired of leave it turned off. If the coach is under warranty, consider having it repaired. If you are paying for the repair, consider just leaving it shut off. The auto shutting feature was a great idea, but I do not think there is any awning Brand where this feature works consistently, over time.
