Sorry should have specified. Pump is only running when I'm on my fresh water tank not shore water.

Just a side note about if the pump should run when on city (shore) water. In very few cases I've seen city water pressure too low for a nice experience. In those cases I'll switch on the pump just to increase the water system pressure. This has nothing to do with the OP.

I can't do that, if I leave the pump on while on city water it just recycles the water back into the storage tank.
