Fresh water tank indicator

Hello,

New to this RV life. Have an FR3 28DS. Fresh water tank reads 1/3 full after emptying completely. Is this normal? Does it register in 1/3 increments?

Thanks

welcome to this site....

Of all the cheep things on RV's this has got to be the worst.. I've owned several RV's over the years... and these tank level systems have never worked for me... I've gone to the point of soldering the connections and using shrink tube... and finally gave up... Its my opinion that anything on the inside of the tank will make these senors fail to function correctly....

Just my thoughts.. but for sure others will chime in here..

We're in our 4th RV ranging from trailers to motorhomes - and all of them had inconsistent tank monitoring systems. Even on our current motorhome we opened a portal to the side of the fresh water tank - even when the gauge shows 1/3 or less I can actually look at the tank and see that it's at least 1/2 full ... adds a lot of comfort, and ease, to knowing what's in the tank. Now working on the black and grey tanks ...

Enjoy our RV lifestyle ... and welcome to a new set of friends!

Most all tank monitors read 1/3 when empty as that is the default level.

Hi! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Some RV's have adjustments on the tank gauges. If so, while the tanks are empty you can adjust the indicator to show "Empty".

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
