On our '02 DSDP the valve handle had to be turned to point to the left (front of RV).

If it's in the correct position see if you can reach behind the valve, if you can reach behind turn the switch off and back to fill , if you can get your hands behind the valve make sure the center piece that turns is flushed towards you. Push from the back of the valve, sometimes that valve gets mispositioned . Just a suggestion as it happens to mine once in awhile.

Put hand under plastic partition and reach upward till you feel it.
In the 13 years we owned the '02 DSDP we nave had the valve fail for any reason.

assuming this is a new coach the arrow points in the direction to turn OFF fill. If you really have it turned all the way COUNTER clockwise and it won't fill, the valve is bad. It's a brutally simple setup. Is this a new to you coach or a new to you problem? Only other thing I can think of is the fill line is kinked or the valve is bad.

New to me 2004 dutch star

Lines fine. Think I got some water in tank but after an hour meter still says "E". Too tired now going to bed 😞.

Direct to faucets is working fine after a TON of air came out.

Ive been trying to sanitize the lines in prep for camping in 2 weeks

You can also see water leaking at the hose connection. Might be time to open up the panel and look behind it, find the leak and the stoppage.

Had a similar problem, except mine would fill the tank when it was supposed to be on city water. The little plastic valve handle has two flat sides that slip over the valve stem. They can round off, letting the handle turn, but not the actual valve. Take the plastic handle off and rotate the valve stem with a wrench and see if that solves the problem. If it does, you can get a handle (metal) at Home Depot as Newmar no longer sells the plastic ones... if you look on newer units , the valve handle is metal now.

Checked lever itself its fine. Not stripedClick image for larger version

Yes...when you're using onboard water the pump would pump it out of that hole if the valve wasn't there. Which brings up another test you could do.

Unplug the hose, turn the water pump on and open a faucet (hopefully there is some water in the tank to pump).

Go outside and turn your water fill valve to the fill position (counter clockwise) like you are trying to fill your tank.

If the valve is working, water should slow or stop coming out of the faucet you opened as what you will be doing is pumping water out of your tank then back into the tank.

At least that's how mine is plumbed and I'm pretty sure they are all the same (at least those that don't have a dedicated fill port).

As described..it is a check valve

Just a simple plunger/spring/o-ring assembly

Push on it under pressure and you can dislodge the o-ring. That makes them stop working---------they will then leak and/or stop flow of water IN

IF you feel the need to push in on it....relieve all pressure via a faucet etc before doing so.......just saying

And the suggestion to run pump then operate 'fill valve' is a GOOD/EASY test whether FILL Valve allows water flow thru it.

Pump on and Fill Valve OPEN ---pump should not be able to build line pressure cause it will be 'Round Robin'
From fresh water tank directly back to fresh water tank

Ok. Final results are in! Problem was the house water filter was in upside down not allowing water to fill tank but a dribble. Grrrrrr. Turn it around and all is good!
