Front Door latch

Our front door does not close. I have attached a picture of the latch thing - it doesn't "click" on to the other part. Camping World said I needed to buy the whole kit. But I'm wondering if I can adjust it ? I have turned the screws (or bolts or whatever they are) with the Allen wrench. They turn, but it doesn't move the latch. The latch seems to be too far down to click on to the other part. Thanks for any suggestions.
