Front TV replacement

Has anybody ever replaced one of the front TV's that are integrated into the dash?

I think an LCD would be to wide to be placed there. How would one fill this big hole, and what would be a good place for an LCD TV in a Hurricane?

My current front looks like this:

Would make a great storeage area for GPS, chargers, etc..Pull the tv out and build a box, add a coulple of shelfs, trim out the front and make a door. Slide that right in the hole and there you go..I am in the process of tearing out my upper tv and making a cabnet to fill the hole. Not a big job, just take your time and it will go fine....Happy Trails..

We hung the new TV from above and made the old area into storage!

Would something like this fit your space, without the stand?

Does it need an integrated TV tuner or doesn't it matter if one has satellite?

There is great need for a sarcasm font.

You only need a tuner for off air channels or cable TV, with a satellite receiver most feed with HDMI or some combination of audio/video cables. You need to know what outputs your Sat Rec has and compare them to the monitor.

Also if you have a VHS or DVD player with a tuner you can pick up the off air/cable channels with it and feed them to the monitor the same way.

Good luck.

Hi guys! I used some heavy duty gate hinges and made the pinned bracket from some steel I had. It's a 19 inch, I could have gone bigger if I had moved the visors over.

17" would be rather small. The existing unit is 19".

Also, I would not mind if I could reduce that big hump a little (create kind of a flat surface) and use it for a GPS.
