fuel mileage?

I am planing a trip from Va to Daytona next month in a new to me motorhome. I am trying to figure out what it will cost me in gas for the trip. It is a 35 ft 01 R vision with a 8.1 on the P32 chassis. Should I expect 5 to 7 mpg? I was hoping it would be about there. more would be better of course.

My Bounder is almost the same as yours in chassis, motor and length and after putting on 6500 miles my overall mpg has been 7.3. On the flat roads I got over 10 mpg and over the Rockies I got 5.5 - 6 mpg. If you don't have a lead foot and keep the speed under 65 mph you should get what I get.

I'm at about 25,000 lb total with toad.

8.1 engine and over 60,000 miles I averaged 7.1 mpg.

When planning fuel costs I figure on 7 mpg (average).
Make sure to use a website or app like gasbuddy.com to find less expensive gas.

I know from traveling down I-81 last year there can be as much as a 50 cents difference depending where you stop.

If you budget for $750 you will be close.

Now go have fun and only worry about things you can do something about!

Great thanks for the replies. I was figuring 5 to 7 worst case.Since it will be down rt 95 there are few hills and not towing so that will help.

Avoid buying gas in North Carolina. Gas is cheaper in Va and South Carolina

Pull up to the pump, fill her up, pay with the credit card, go have fun, come back and go to work and pay for it all. Jim
