Fuel pump gauge reading stuck on full

Fuel garage issue or sender unit???
Yup another project so is this one of those things where I got to drop the tank .. I if I apply ground to the gauge itself it will slap to empty..
1990 overland 39-40 ft coach looking at tank from underneath looks like I see one wire running to top of tank

I have the same problem. My sender is a 0-90 ohm sender. I disconnected the sender wires and an open on the sender wires causes the gauge to read full, a short across pulls it to empty. I added a variable resistor and varied it from 0-90 and my wife said it moved the gauge 1/4, 1/2, 3/4. So it is my sender. I have to burn some fuel off before I can change it. The gauge does give a hint of the volume sporadically - I think I have 3/4 tank and I need to get it to around 1/3.

Ahh.. well looks like I'm in your boat..how did you perform that's variable test exactly and where you get that resistor?

I had the potentiometer (variable resistor) already and used alligator clip jumpers to connect the resistor to the sending unit wires. Then I used a screwdriver to adjust it as my wife watched the gauge.
You could also get a 47ohm resistor and put it across the wires - should show a half tank if you have a 0-90 ohm gauge.

Finally got time to tackle this turned out after dropping the tank the feed wire broke from top of the sending unit look like old age I would of never found It if I hadn't dropped the tank plus there was a second cut on the same signal wire further down that appeared to cut by the leveling jack going down at some point well before I got coach repaired wire and all is well just figured I'd up date you guys
