Fuel Sending Unit P30 1987 454

Here is my issue.

My mechanic has traced my fuel gauge issue to the fuel sending unit. Gauge is pegged on full. I need a sending unit, but my problem is the previous owner installed an extended fuel tank, believed to be a 120 gallon tank. This size was based on me putting 109 gallons of gas in last summer and the generator still would run.

What sending unit would I need if the tank is this large? When I googled the part I got hundreds of different types of sending unit for a P30 with a 454 7.4L engine. Ranging in price from $35 to $200. I don't want to get the wrong size one.

With your collected knowledge I figured someone might be able to help.

Thanks
Arnold

Your best bet is to drop it out and see what in there, if the tank was upgraded then who knows what unit is in there.
