Pete & Linda:

5+ years (no home, no stored stuff) and lovin it.

We too have often wondered how many full timers there are on the road. However, it's tough to ever determine a reasonably reliable number.

Why?....well:

FIRST: ya have to secure agreement as to the definition of WHAT constitutes being a "Full Timer." AND, you'll soon discover ya CAN'T!! Ya just can't come up with an agreed upon answer to that question. (Try it. You'll soon discover why).

SECOND: when ya ask...."how many full timers do we have?"...ya gotta be sure to define the word.."we." Do you intend to mean...

a.) "we" ...the entire RV'ing community currently active on the North American continent?, or,

b.) "we" ...members of the iRV2 community only?, or,

c.) "we" ...those just currently posting and replying back and forth on some specific thread?, or,

Well, you get the idea .

Pete & Linda, don't take me wrong, I'm not trying to be one of those smart alec, snarky, pickyune, jerks ya sometimes run into here on the net (NOT on iRV2 ANYWAY, THANK GOODNESS ), but simply trying to give ya the idea that ...... it ain't easy trying to discover how many full timers there are .

Although there might be a few applications where actually knowing this number would be useful for some, I've given up even trying to approach this issue.

Steve

Steve,

FWIW I pretty much agree. To me people who live in an RV and don't go anywhere simply live in an RV. Then you have folks who stay south in the winter and north in the summer and go back and forth between the same two places.

But you can count as as real full timers, 1 week shy of our fourth anniversary, no house, no storage, its all on wheels. We have hit 48 out of the 50, been to NJ lots but don't count it yet as we haven't golfed or stayed there yet. Our 3 - 5 year plan is looking like 5 - 7 according to DW and 8 - 10 for me.
