Gas Filter
Has anyone changed the gas filter on a 2005 Winnebago Voyage (38 ' Workhorse 8.1 L). If so, How complicated ? What ser.No.?

Mine was changed a few years ago by the Workhorse dealer.
I'm curious what problem you are having that you want to change the fuel filter.

Hogride,
I have an 04 Southwind with the W22 Workhorse and 8.1. Workhorse no longer makes the fuel filter if you have the one with three connections. I had to buy an adapter from OEM Engineering (972-542-9696) that now allows me to use a standard filter (GM 652 or Fram G3727).
Nice to have a north wind when on the road with a Southwind!!

I had Brazel's remove my original filter and mounting assembly and install their replacement kit which allows you to use the much cheaper GM filters. They sell their kit online with detailed instructions if you want to do it yourself.

The RV starts missing, when driving in the hills. I changed the plugs and wires. After 150 miles the check engine light comes on and stays on.

Check the codes with a odbII scan tool an d see if it gives you some clues. Good luck.

Workhorse dealers "DO" now have the new filter adapter. Its not that big a deal to change out. Behind the rear axle on the frame rail, might be a bunch of wires in front of it.. Do a search on the 'Workhorse forum' for more information. I agree that it could be another problem but a new filter never hurts

I doubt the fuel filter is the source of the problem you've described, and agree a code reader IS the best way to find the problem causing the check engine light to come on.
In answer to your original question, the part # for the ADAPTER kit, which is REQUIRED to change your fuel filter, is W8006889. It should be available from any WCC ASC. However, you can buy the SAME thing from OEMY and get great mail order service-see his website (with pictures ) and tons of other Workhorse info HERE: Oemy's Web Site - Oemy's Product Catalog

Do you know what the code is on the check engine light?
$70.00 will get you this gauge that will tell you what is going on.
