Gas pedal (diesel) problems

The DP I just purchased had gas and brake extenders about 5 inches thick glued and bolted to the gas and brake pedals. After sawing and beating a screw driver into them they came off. The gas pedal fell off and I am trying to figure out how to put it back on. The throttle rod comes down and curves. It has a hole drill through it and the other parts are a plastic pedal with a larger hole drilled in the side edge and the other edge has a smaller hole. A spring on a shaft that fits the larger hole and comes half way across the pedal and another pin fits the smaller hole and come half way. It is only a few parts but I am having problems trying to figure it out. Maybe someone has some experience on this. And where can I buy a new brake and gas pedal to fit?
Thanks

If I was home, I would take some pictures of mine for you. Maybe you could post some pictures of your parts and somebody may be able to help you put it back together.

Getting it figured out, the pins I found that fell out in two pieces and different sizes actually were the same piece and broke where the size changed and now makes sense now. Still not sure how the spring fits in the deal. I know the shaft goes through the spring loop but don't know how the spring puts pressure anywhere.
