Gas Pusher
Just looked at very nice 2008 Georgetown gas pusher. It has the Workhorse chassis and the 8.1L in the rear. I'm looking for the pros and cons of this arrangement. Thanks in advance for opinions.

Ask this on the Workhorse forum for better response. I believe it's called a UFO chassis and the only think I know is some of the chassis parts may be hard to find.

TOMWALT is correct. The R26 (UFO) gas pusher was made by Workhorse Custom chassis and used by 5 coach builders. I believe Forest River Georgetown was offered in 2 floor plans.
You can read lots of threads in the Workhorse chassis forum here on iRV2.com
IMO it is the best riding and handling gasser ever made due to its unique suspension package, including a "torque box" not included on any other gasser.

I wouldn't own any other gas powered MH.

every time one of these comes up i want to make some kind of joke on how i dont fit in here but i cant think of one today LOL
its a really nice RV and yes some parts are hard to find so thats why the cost is down but there are alot of us that love that setup and so the UFOs are hard to find some times as well
like UFO pliot said up there we love them and so you can find a hand full of us that wish some one would start to make them again
8.1 is still GM and all past can still be found for the motor
allison you know is still here so part can be found for the trans
its just some of the one off braking system parts that may be hard to find
but every thing else is your stander RV parts

Thanks for the comments. This is model 391, 39ft. King bed, new Michelin tires, and 26000 miles. Excellent condition, asking $86000.
Just looked at it today. Problem is we are leaving Iowa for Florida tomorrow, if it happens to be still at the dealer in April we try and deal on it then.

Interesting. Never knew such a model existed. Love how much you can learn from this site.

My opinion, if you are driving 15000 miles or more per year, you'd probably be happier with a diesel.

there is one just down the road from me here at CW in FL may be a lower price here
humm sorry cant feel the same way on 150000 miles a year AV for a car is 25000 a year ...
to pay for the upkeep on a diesel i seen some one say 30 to 40,000 a year
if there asking in the $80s i think he could walk away in the 70 or even 60s
but 80$ sounds to be where they are all running at about right now
he would have to really go low end to find a 2008 DP around or in the 70$
if he knows some one or can do alot of his own work the motor and trans are low cost on ebay
you can all ways find a running 8.1l on ebay for under 1200$ with ECM
allison 2100 MH 6 speed with the 5 speed TCMs all in one can be found for under 2000$
so if any thing should ever go wrong with the motor or trans you know if you have 2000$ in back up some where then you are ok on parts
but it really comes down to money ... as they say if you got it go diesel in less you are like me and just like to work on your own stuff
