Most pumps are implementing timers. Just waiting a minute or two works for me but makes anyone waiting in line real mad.

I'd rather do the multi swipes or cards than go inside and stand in line twice-just my preference...

Interesting...I've never had this happen at truck stops.

Perhaps that's because I use their cards. We have a Shell, Exxon, Phillips....well you get the point. None of these shut off and we simply pay them off when the bill comes in.

No worrying about double or triple swiping.

Have you had the experience that a clerk is not permitted to hold a credit card while you fill up? Got this one time recently, and i wonder if this is a new trend? Fraud is a wonderful thing!!!

To me it's easier to pay at the pump always swipe multiple times never had to use more than one card.

With todays fuel prices (and on the rise) it doesn't take much to spend $75.. when the HHR is empty it will take almost $50.

My DW always takes my BP card to the fuel desk to avoid cut off. I have always received my 5% disc. For me it is a lot less hassle because I have a vehicle record system and I post all my fuel tickets.

I haven't used a gas company credit card lately but could swear that they have the same limit as a VISA card when used at the pumps.

I'm hoping for the same effect of the $150 to $30 barrel rate slide in '08: hysteria drives up the push for fuel-efficient and (this time around) electric vehicles; demand plunges, and the market crashes.

Ninety-five cent diesel for all of us in 2014!!
