Gen set runs but no coach power
Help!! Don't know where to post this! Gen Set starts and runs but I don't have any power to the coach. Everything is fine on shore power. I've recycled the gem set breakers and the main coach breaker several times. Suspect the auto transfer switch is stuck. I'd like to give it a good tap. Anyone have any idea where it would be located on a 99 Rexhall Anthem?

Hi Lmar1,
I do not know your coach. However, the transfer switch is usually located in the same bay as the shore power cord.

You should be able to find it by sound. Unplug & replug shore power & listen for the "thump." Then go there. Alternatively, you can follow the power cable from where your cord ends; should be not far from there. Maybe even combine these two highly sophisticated methods for a technological diagnostic triumph!

If his switch is stuck, there probably won't be any "thump". Which I guess is a diagnostic in itself.

Mine hides in the small bathroom.. Here is how I found it.
I noted the location of the shore power Inlet on the coach
I noted the location of the generator on the coach
I noted the location of the Breaker Panel on the coach
I drew imaginary lines and where they crossed was under the counter in the front (half) bath on my bath and a half model
I opened the under counter cabinet and found the bottom half was blocked off with block off panels.. I removed one.. Low and behold. there it was.
Now, truth be told. I GOT LUCKY. They put it in the logical spot
Truth be told the only way I can guarantee to find it is to trace wires. You have 3 choices of starting points.. The same three I listed above, shore inlet, genny, breakers. The wires to/from the ATS will be the largest wires outside of battery cables in the coach.

You're sure it has such a switch?
One that I looked at didn't, it had a receptavle in the genny comp, you could either plug in the genset, or the shore power cable, what you might call "full manual operation"
