Good Morning All,

I am interested in the Gen Turi system to help with exhaust fumes when we camp at Nascar events, but would like some opinions and assistance. Most importantly, it looks like the pipes are held stationary using some sort of cords attached to side of coach. I really don't want to harm the outside of my new RV and wondered...could one use suction cup style hooks to hold the cords onto the RV walls?

Yes many do, if your genset lines up with a window that would be a good location for them. Remember winds and people will sometimes dislodge things and a good set of suction cups are necessary.
You may already know the Genturi pipe is not hot to the touch and will do no damage to the finish, but I usually give mine about 2 inches of space.

Depends on the location of the generator . Mine is located in front and lines up with the mirror.A bungee cord and a sponge to pad between the tube and mirror. Someone else I know puts out his window awning and bungees it.Some use suction cups.As said the outer tube does not get hot.

I use suction cups on mine and they have not hurt the finish so far.

I used a couple very small stainless 'eye straps', attached with stainless screws. You wouldn't notice them, unless standing right next to them. You can find them at a marine outlet, if not your local hardware store.

The pipes are indeed held up and "Counter balanced" by what they call Shock Cords.. I call 'em tarp straps, Short rubber sraps with S-hooks in each end.

There are several options for attachment to the coach

you can use suction cups, which are supposed to be in the box (Were not with mine) or adheasive hooks (You could use 3-M Command hooks, they come off clean and I've yet to see one do damage to a painted surface) or you can screw in eye bolts (As I did) though the eye bolts they provide are somewhat different from what I use.

NOTE: The bracets I use I painted to match the coach.. at a distance, you do not see them. They look "Factory"

Finally... That device is amazing.. Does a great job. I highly recommend it (how you hold it up is up to you though) Works great.

This next line is kind of "in cheek" it gets so HOT... How hot? Well so hot that I can hold it in my hand even after hours of generator operation, I can lean against it,, Take the sections apart.. Just so long as I do not touch the metal elbow at the bottom (That part will burn you) the black pipe gets to around 100 degrees (Bath water range) with my Onan 5500

In fact.. I've had electrical cable get hotter.. Because the sun was shining on it. (Not from current)

Made my own genturi with parts from hardware store and Lowes. Tethered the upright pipe with suction cups and a metal standoff. Works great. Cost about $25.

Send me your email address (jackgibbs@q.com) and I will send you some instructions for making some really cool holders using suction cup for carrying glass. can get at harbor freight.

I use a small scissor jack under the generator exhaust pipe to relieve stress on the exhaust when Gen Turi is on.

Me too. I mounted the eye straps right underneath the window frame. 4 screws. No big deal. Use silicone under the screws before you set them.

I highly recommend the original GenTuri, as it was engineered to pull the exhaust fumes up above the coach. It works! For $160 peace of mind is worth it.

I saw a demonstration at a FMCA rally where the installer tore a small peice of paper, introduced it to the bottom of the larger pipe with the genny running, and it shot up over the roof in a millisecond. I was sold! (And yes, I own one and use it at rallys)

The eye straps also come black anodized as fair leads. Very small and screw to black window frame if it lines up with exhaust. No need to drill glass sides that way.
