Q1
oes the generator run off the MH gas tank?
A1: Generally yes, though on a few odd RV it is propane powered But Generally yes. WHY: Biggest fuel tank you got
CAUTION: the fuel pick up for the generator is normally about the quarter full level, this gives you enough remaining fuel for the main engine to make it to the filling station for a re-fill.
Q2: About how much fuel does it consume in an hours worth of running?
A2: This varies by Generator, You can download the manual for your generator and it will specify but "Around a gallon an hour" seems about right for most Class A generators. Give or take about half a gallon.
Q3: Can the generator be ran while the MH in traveling?
A3: Yes. and in fact many of us either do that all the time (Thinking the ROOF A/C is more efficient than the Engine A/C) or as needed (once a month, usually while changing RV parks, or when it's hot enough out for the devil to feel at home and I need all 3 Air conditioners (Two on roof plus dash) to keep my cool)
Q4: Does the Generator charge the house batteries when running?
A4: The generator does everything Shore Power does, Shore power (When you plug in at a campground) powers a device called a Converter which charges the battery.
So does the generator so the answer is YES.
C1:Thanks
R1: You are welcome
