Generator fuel question

1998 Southwind Storm, at what fuel level on the gauge will the generator stop working? The owner manual is not clear on the issue. I bought the MH and have been renovating and was running the generator today to run the AC and it shutdown and kinda surged a couple times and died. The fuel gauge reads right at a 1/4 tank.

Everything that I've read is that the fuel level for a generator not to run is right at 1/4 tank. I would suspect that's what happened. Also if your MH is not setting quite level that could have some bearing also.

Usually generators are set up to stop drawing fuel from the main tank at 1/4 level. Gauges and pickup tubes can vary a bit. It reads like your gauge is still accurate. Give her a drink and fire the genny back up again.

I figure that's about right, should leave you with 1/4 tank of fuel so you're not stranded. My windsport will go under the gauge mark a little ways before it shuts down
