Generator noise

Our 2007 Damon came with a Generac in it. Not my choice. This thing is so loud you can hear it all over a Walmart parking lot and needless to say inside the MH. The Onan that I had in the Winnie in the 70's was nowhere near as noisy as this POS. I plan on lining the box with boom mat or similar to try and get it quiet. Any others dealt with this problem? HELP!!

I'm sure you've inspected the whole exhaust system, but that would be my first thought that there's an issue there too.

On my previous Class C with an Onan 4K, it was mounted just behind the driver's front door and under the booth dinette. You knew it was running. What I discovered is that a lot of the noise bounces off of the ground (reflective noise). I started throwing a thick rug under it when camping. It helped to soften some of the sound.

I have looked at the exhaust and it is OE. I think it is the Generac itself. My Onan was no where near is noisy. I was wondering if anyone else had a Gernerac. I am going to look into a replacement but it is a shame because it only has 160 hrs.

I had a 97 Dolphin with a generac in it and it was noisy too. Hated it! Traded the coach in on a DP.

We had a Genejunk propane unit in our '00 Dutch Star. Noisy and being air cooled (part of the noise problem too) it would overheat and shut down just when you needed it the most.

last motor coach we looked at before we bought a bounder had a generac and thought that it had an Onan in it and thought something was wrong when we had it start the generator and I said gosh it was loud and thought there was something wrong with it and low and behold it was a generac. Not a big fan and passed on the coach even though I liked the layout.

I have one in my coach and it is very quiet. What does the exhaust look like? It is nowhere near as loud as my home portable generator.
