Second question.....Relates to the first. It looks like the Flow thru model sticks out substantially more than the non flow thru. So for those with the non flow thru, do they come off pretty easy when adding air?

I bought a different system (Tire-SafeGuard), and installed it on a Ford-chassis Class C and toad. I haven't compared it to the TST system, but would expect experience with it to be similar.

I used flow-through for the dual rear tires, and non-flow-through for the other six tires. I had no problem with 1) sensors striking objects/debris, or 2) removing the non-flow through sensors when adding air. I did not install the socket-head cap screws that lock the sensors to the stems, for any of the sensors. I did select the coach front tire valve stem extensions to minimize the distance that the sensors stuck out from the wheel cover.

If you are concerned with the monitor sticking out talk to TST and see if their 507 internal monitor system will work on the RV. I can't imagine that they will not.

Also, you could go with the flow through for the rears and the non-flow through for the front. You can remove the spinning cap on the non-removable sensor and decrease the foot print a little more as long as you are comfortable that they will not be stolen. I don't worry about it.

Yes, the non-flow through come off very easily with the tool. I had a tire place take them off with their hand and not use the tool. Just grasp the sensor, put outward pressure on it and spin it off. (Sorry folks, they are not really theft proof they just deter a little bit.) The flow through have the two allen set screws that deter a little better but are a pain to take off if storing for a long period of time.

You have scouted everything except for the BEST one, Tire SafeGuard.

There won't be one that fits every requirement from your list above but the Tire SafeGuard won't let you down. If it does send, me a PM and I will talk to the Sales and Tech representative personally to fix whatever is not working.

Tire Minder does everything on your list, and their customer support has been very good. It comes with the repeater, but I haven't needed it in a 38 footer without a toad.

Regarding TST Flow through vs Non-flow through...

I've used all forms of TST 507 sensors and found I preferred the non-flow through WITHOUT the security cap. I came to hate the ones with the security cap because the darn tool was a PITA and I found it kinds chewed up the flanges after a while.

That was 3 years ago and TST gave me a very fair trade in price to convert to flow throughs. I used those for a couple years but found the cases cracked and the hatch to replace the batteries cracked too. I also found out that it was stupid on my part to run my toad through a car was and expect them not to be snapped off. LOL However, I did have one truck wash jockey snap off a sensor when they were cleaning my rims. BTW...once the case is cracked, they started to fail. TST was very good and replaced every cracked case at no cost to me but I got tired of that.

Last year after talking with Wayne and finding out it was easy to remove the security caps I replaced all my flow throughs with the buttons. Again, TST was great to work with and gave me a great price to make the conversion and some free spares. With the security cap removed it is lighter, smaller and just as easy to take off as a stem cap. Yes, if someone wants to steal them it is easy but if someone wants them bad enough, they will damage the stems to get them. Besides, even with the flow throughs I tended to remove them to add or remove air from the tires.

The battery replacement on the buttons vs the flow throughs is a snap. The buttons have not shown any water intrusion or cracking. I'm very happy with them.

TST is not the only good brand but IMO is as good as any out there. I have no reason to change brands but I admit, I'm waiting to see the new display when it comes out.

Thanks guys.....I ordered the TST non flow through and will remove the locks on the front two. I found them at RVUgrades for $385.00 for (8) sensors.

OP: All those you mentioned will work just fine. Look carefully at the display and pick the one that looks to you as the easiest to read. Personally I like the display of the TST and EEZTire. I chose EEZTire simply because it was cheaper than the TST at the time.
Also, be aware that the flow through sensors will not fit through some hub caps used on front rims.
You mentioned all six tires, DO NOT forget your toad.

I am following this thread also. I sent TST an email asking about the rumored newer larger monitor this weekend. If I hear back I'll reply here again with what they say. I will get a system before the trip this spring. Reading the TST FAQ I guess I'll also need to replace the toad valve stems with metal ones.

If you use the caps on the toad stems you'll have no need for change out. They are very lite and small. We have used them on the Ford Edge several years, no issues, with rubber valve stems. They are easy to remove and add air if needed. I highly recommend them and TST. As to monitor size, I don't find it too small or large. If you have a problem the monitor will "alarm" with a very annoying wail you'll have to pay attention to. An occasional glance or handing to the co pilot to check temps is too easy. Just not a worry IMHO.

Current version of EEztire has serious mounting bracket problem - otherwise it is OK. Would not buy until you can confirm mounting problem is resolved. They acknowledge the problem and claim to be working on a fix but offer no est. on when new mount will be available.

Exact opposite experience for me. TST was noting but trouble for the 10 months I had it. (customer service was indeed good). TireTraker has been super for over 5 years now. Their sensors are smaller and lighter than any others I have seen, and customer service has been great. And they now have a lifetime warranty.
