Get me started to buy a TPMS, please...

Did a search and read a LOT.

To get me started, I need:

a.....SIMPLE PROGRAMMING
b.....Fast cycle time. 2 min seems to be best available
c.....Fast leak alert
d.....Best warranty and customer service
e.....Big screen (3.5 inch is the best I can find)
f......LOUD audible alert
g.....Made in USA
h.....Can handle our 35' rig w/o a repeater (or comes with a repeater)
i......Light sensor weight (0.5 oz) Not a pass-thru. Don't want it.
j......Sensor battery is replaceable
k.....Shows all 6 tires and current temp.
l......Low tire pressure alarm kicks in when moving, not necessarily for the psi I set cold, in the a.m.

I have scouted: Hopkins/NVision; EEZ; TireTraker; TireMinder; TST and HawksHead.

Any help is appreciated.

I have the TST and before that several pieces of unreliable often false alarm junk. I started asking the truckers what they used and by far the TST system was the choice.
I have it with the flo through sensors and include the toad and also use the booster antenna. Very satisfied !

I bought mine from TST truck systems. You can call them anytime of day and they will walk you through the programming in minutes. And they are a sponsor of IRV2. Great customer service and advice on what you need to buy.

On the TST-507 with flow through. Make sure you get the version with temp monitoring as well

I use Tire-SafeGuard no repeater and it will see my Toad 100' from the RV. Tech support is awesome, 24/7.

There is also a TST-510. Anyone know the difference between that and the TST-507?

I have researched the different systems and decided to go with the TST system. It monitors both pressure and temperature on rig and TOAD, 12 sensors in total.

Programming was a breeze as Mike Benson (TST) had them programed for my tires so all I had to do was screw them on.

A repeater was something I choose to install. I did however install on on/off switch for it.

Service has been top notch.

I have the Tireminder system. It works great and they have wonderful customer support. I have had money for 3 years now on the coach and on the toad.

I have been using a TST 507 for 6 years and it has worked great. Easy to replace batteries, great customer service.

Here are some postings you might read.

The sensors for those systems are NOT interchangeable. The 510 batteries are not user replaceable either.

Here are FAQs

TST is supposed to be coming out with a new display for the 507 system. I haven't see it yet.

I have TST and I think it meets all the OP's criteria.

I also have the TST flow through on the RV and non-flow through on the TOAD. Glad I have them. Monitor is small but can be picked up off the mount and checked easily. Saves a lot of time in the mornings getting ready to pull out.

I have a question......I'm a gadget guy and the price of the TST system is not an issue. I've looked at them for years, but just haven't been persuaded to get one. Knock on wood, but after 40 years of RVing, I've only had one tire go bad. It was a 19 inch on the front of my Fleetwood Terra, that I could feel getting a tread separation on the way home from the Grand Canyon. I changed it and that was it. If I see a tire start to wear unevenly or do anything weird, I'll replace it.

So here is my question....I don't mind putting the sensors on the rear tires, but I'm curious about the fronts. I don't care for the look of the sensor hanging off the front wheel and I'm concerned it could get struck by debris. Has anyone had this issue?

Second question.....Relates to the first. It looks like the Flow thru model sticks out substantially more than the non flow thru. So for those with the non flow thru, do they come off pretty easy when adding air?

Looking at prices, I can get them at Tweety's or PPL Motors for about $60.00 less than buying direct from TST.....Someone stated that they would preprogram them if you buy them from TST, but that's not a huge deal to me. Lastly, is TST charging tax....since I live in California, that's another $32.00, so about $90.00 plus dollars to go with TST.
