Good Diesel Shops in Chicago?

Hey DP pilots,
Where to take my MH for general maintenance? Need oil change, tubeup, etc.

I'm located in northwest suburban Chicago. Thanks in advance.

Is there a Speedco around? I haven't used them, but many members here have and have good things to say about them. I wish I had one closer to where I am. My understanding is that they do primarily oil changes and such. Repairs would need to be done elsewhere.

Thanks Jeff. There is a speedco about 50 miles from me although on the other side of the city. It could take me 2 hours on a good day to get there

I'm looking for more than just oil change. The MH is new to us and we want to get the engine/trans checked out. How is the service at camping world?

Yeah, the closest Speedco to me is on the other side of Atlanta. So I feel your pain.
The Camping World question is a can of worms. In a nutshell, it depends on your local Camping World. Some are good, some are ok, and some are not good. Lots of people have pretty strong opinions on CW, so I would check out the one close to you pretty carefully before I made a decision. As a reference, there is a CW about 5 miles from my house, and I don't use them.
I use a couple of big truck shops for my repairs and such. Caterpillar and Freightliner both have shops around 20 miles away. I would think that an area as big as metro Chicago would have something similar.
Hopefully someone closer to your area will chime in with a shop suggestion here soon.

service

How about Cummins Npower in Hodgkins? Won't be cheap but will be done right.

I'm going to give Scott's RV in Rockford, IL a try. I spoke with them about servicing my rig and they made a good first impression.

I'll post an update after my service work in done.

Why not post it at www.rvservicereviews.com which is where you could have/should have gone with the original question.
