Good Sam Warranty

I have a 2001 Holiday Rambler Endeavor and Iam getting ready( starting in June ) to start full timing traveling the U.S..( I've owned coach since October 2015 ) I'm interested in buying an "extended service warranty from Good Sam, price is right and it sounds like it covers the main concerns about mechanical failures. I understand this is NOT a bumper to bumper warranty, it is limited to specific items. Has anyone had any experience with Good Sam, or can some one recommend a similar warranty with a different company. Thanks in advance....

Have you checked with anyone about buying one for your coach. Most extended warranty companies will not cover a coach over 10 years old. Oh, and the Good Sam price is right because they don't pay claims, they find ANY loophole to avoid payment.

Thanks for your input. Is your statement about Good Sam from your own experience with them not paying or is it from what you have heard? Thanks again

Both, accounts I've read on sites like this one and two friends who had GS warranties and only rarely got anything covered, 1 on a motorhome and 1 on a 5th wheel. They refused a claim on the 5th wheel because the owner lacked service records showing all services were up to date ????

I have a friend who got a $4500 repair covered on his 11 year old RV, a Good Sam policy. I had great results with my first policy (not Good Sam), paid $3500 for it and had almost $12000 in covered repairs.

Check out these types of policies for yourself if possible. Remember you have to know what is and isn't covered and follow the rules for submitting claims. Ask the repair service if they work with your warranty company or not. Get approval before the work starts, collecting after is next to impossible. Just a few things from my personal experience.

I have the GS warranty and needed it once. The advantage to me is that they have you pay monthly which is much easier to swallow than a $3,000-$4,000 lump sum payment that the others wanted to insure my Coach. It is (as are all of the ones I know of for older coaches) a limited warranty and you need to understand the limitations. I think that is where most of the complaints come from. Read the limitations and decide accordingly. We lost a water pump on the road. They covered it up to the policy limits (There is a deductible). No real trouble except they were slow to get back to us. I suspect they are a bit understaffed.

After a bad experience with GS, I immediately cancelled and went with www.wholesalewarranties.com have been with them for almost 5yrs. without any problems what so ever. They've covered everything I've needed done, going so far as replacing my old Dometic fridge with a residential. Less my deductible of course. Just make sure you call them BEFORE any work is done to get the work authorized.

Ditto to that!!! Just cancelled, after 8 years, they don't cover wear & tear. My step gear was worn to the point that it would not fully retract. Not covered END OF STORY!!!!!!!!! It was suggested, by the dealer, after trying Sam, to hit a curb and claim it on my auto policy. they would surely cover it.

Have had 2 claims so far and GS paid both as expected and stated in the policy. It's important as was previously stated, that the repair facility coordinate before the repair for coverage. So far so good.

Yep, they are right, the maintenance records clause is in the contract the purchaser signed.

For whoever commented on contract coverage, Good Sam's ESC covers up to 18 yr old RV's. I know, I just purchased another yr on our present 2002 Winnebago. Camping World OTOH, limits coverage to 7 yr old MH's. BTW, they do not use the same ESC provider, Good Sam has their own company, Camping World uses Crossroads RV extended service provider.
