Goodyear 670 RV

I didn't want to derail one of the other tire threads with an unrelated question and am looking for input on whether $3200 including everything is a good deal for a set of 6. 245-75-19.5.

I know there are cheaper options including the dreaded ironmans for $1600 at the same shop bud decided to go with what came on the rig.

Thanks!

I don't know where you are located, but in the Fort Worth, Texas area I put a set of Goodyear 245 75 22.5 on mine a few months ago and paid $2950 including mounting, tax and everything for all six. Your price for 19.5s sounds a bit high to me. You might shop around a bit.

Just my $0.02 worth.

In in the San Francisco North Bay. That was the cheapest out of 3 places in the area including the shop that Goodyear's website located. Sales tax is 9%.

Just a heads up. Do a search on Goodyear G670 and I think you'll find a lot of people who have had issues with these tires.

i too recommend Hankook.

That price appears to be about $500 too much. I have the G670's and would never buy them again. Many other tires that are better at a much lower cost. eg. Bridgestone, Hankook

I had to replace two front RV Goodyear G670 tires on my 2013 RV after 1 year. I had alignment issues from the factory (still working on that one!), so I can't blame the tires. However when I did my research I concluded that those tires were not acceptable for me. The tire shop that I used said "Goodyear's name is very descriptive--they are only Good for a Year." I replaced my steering G670's with Michelin tires... Still have the original G670's on my rear axle. This is all FYI... There are those who hate Michelin too, so who knows!

Tires seem to have a fanatical brand loyalty around here and anytime they are mentioned it brings the haters out. I agree with Idaho on the price. It seems you are paying for the 22" size instead of 19.5's. No matter which brand you pick, remember to check the date codes before you buy. There are many stories of people buying 'new' tires that are already several years (or more) old.

Yes......I'm a hater.....I will never buy another Goodyear product. I had nothing but issues with the G670's on my Monaco Diplomat. I went through two sets on the front end before I switched to Hankooks. The Hankooks rode better, were substantially less and OUTLASTED both sets of Goodyears and are still going.

Goodyear has an issue with "rivering" on steer tires. It doesn't happen on all coaches, but there are enough complaints nationwide to know that it's a problem.

Thanks for all the input. I have a well regarded local shop working on a quote for hankooks for me including installing the TST system I just purchased. I had previously decided on the Goodyears after reading all the threads mainly because they are on the rig now and still in good shape after 13 years. New to me rig and I started the tire search knowing that it's way past due for replacement.
