I am looking at purchasing two 245/75/22.5 goodyear g661 hsa steer tires and would like to know if anyone is running these and how they are preforming. Thanks for any input

When it comes to Goodyear I would say DON"T. Changed all my G670s over the Michelins this year and the ride is substantially improved.

I on the other hand say that Michelins are way over rated. Put a set on my last MH and in three years sidewalls were cracked so bad I had to change them. Went back to Goodyears.

Don't know what your problems were but I find GY's very good tires. I have 20k miles on mine with no probs at all. "To each his own." Michelin makes great tires as well but I don't slam anyone else's products.

I've used both on my Class "A"'s and I find a better ride with Michelins. With that being said, I think both are safe depenable tires.

I won't get into the debate over which is better. I will say the ONLY tire I've ever blown out was a GoodYear and have never (up until a couple screws at a show venue) had so much as a flat tire with Michelins.

I have had the G661HSA on the front of my NRC Conversion for 2.5 years with no problems. I believe I previously had GDY G149RSA tires in gthe front. Those tires "rivered" the shoulders significantly, but still wore pretty good. I will say the 661 tires have a much better ride with ro "rivering". I just put the 662 tires on the rear. All tires are 295/75r22.5.

PS. I put 17-20K miles a year on my tires.

I was at the tire shop this morning getting tires and an alignment done and the mechanic that did my alignment said that the Goodyears are hard tires and they wear uneven most of the time, I went with the michelin xza 2 but they are 18 ply and my old Goodyears were only 16ply but michelin doesn't make a 16 ply tire on the 275-70-22.5

GoodYears are noted for "rivering" but won't admit it's a problem.

I just put 6 new G670RV tires on mine,I don't know if he was lying to me or not,but he said they have a built in UV protection in them (which they do,I researched that afterwards)and that they have improved over the past couple of years and these are made just for RV'S. I don't have that many miles on them yet for wear report. I guess he could have sold me the more expensive michelins,but he highly recommended these.

I think you're going to like them, in spite of what some people say. I switched from the junk Michelin, zipper-rip blowout prone XRV's years ago, and thoroughly looked into other major brands. Over several months, I spoke at length with all of them, and chose the Goodyear G670RV. The factory technical department folks told me that this tire has the UV inhibitors throughtout the tire, tread included, and not just the one sidewall, as some. These tires are load range H, and carry a greater load at 80 psi, than the XRV's did at 100. I have over 30,000 miles on them, and they perform flawlessly. Would buy them again.
