I would definitley farm this out.

Not only does it sound like a good price, it sounds too good to be a good deal. I would really be careful before I gave the go ahead. I had a quote for decal replacement on a 39 foot Open Range fifth wheel of $1600.00. Dont just jump on the lowest price because it is not always the cheapest way to go.

Good Luck and keep us posted.

Making your older MH pretty won't make it run any better. Unless you are going to sell it, I would agree not to do it

That sounds like a great price. The price I got was $1500.00 and he was just going to go over the old decals. He said ever flaw in the old decals would show through the new ones. I did not get it done.

Disagree, but just a comment. We have a very safe vehicle now that we’ve undertaken numerous repairs and upgrades. Ours is not pretty because previous owner was elderly, thrifty, had a wife with dementia and let the basic exterior maintenance go over the past 5 years, I’d estimate.
We want to make ours look “pretty” just for pride of ownership and to reflect that we care about the rig and how it fits into a row of rigs whose owners have similar standards. We like our floor plan, will and have tweaked some decor for personalization and we were comfortable with the purchase price and the investment in repairs and upgrades we’ve made. We realize she’ll never look as good as some newer models, but we’d put her up for comfort and quality of build with many. And we plan to keep her a while with the chassis, brake and tire upgrades we’ve made (amongst others).

What we’re trying to say is that regardless of the resale value of any older rig, we think many of us care about how she looks and what memories she contains. Putting some splash and colour is great as long as it’s done well and at a price the owner feels is reasonable. A $2000 facelift cost spread over 6 years is $28 per month, or a couple of bottles of wine. That’s money well spent if it gives us more pride in ownership and if it helps to induce the sale when it’s time to move on or up.

Go for it! We’re going to! Right after we compound, polish and wax her as shiny as we can get her.

Shine on you hazy diamond!

Here's a link to what I did on our last rig. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f84/new-graphics-178796.html

Did it all myself, and I'll just say that old baked on graphics are a TON of work to remove. But, got consistent compliments on the end result up until we sold her.

If your roof is newer and not needing replacement and you have done your roof maintenance sealing the seams and through roof openings, replacing aged vents and covers, awnings and slide covers, sealed the things that screw into and go through the outside walls and all your other "investments" on your list is finished including tires, brakes and engine/drivetrain maintenance then I would consider the stripes.

I understand not wanting to look at your crusty stripes but make sure you aren't putting lipstick on a pig and get all the other critical stuff taken care of first.

At that price I wouldn't hesitate 1 bit. It's all about what YOU want.
