Got 'er done! Greasing, that is...
Getting ready for a trip next week, I took the MH out of storage today. Tried to fill the fuel tank, but the pump cutoff at $100 and wouldn't let me restart. I'll have to go to a different station next time. Anyway, it's 3/4 full now. I also got the propane serviced; took 11 gallons to fill up, at a cost of $31.36. Then I brought it to the house and greased everything I could reach. First, i did the fan bearing. Wasn't too bad, after I followed the tip from Martind4 to grind off one side of the grease gun tip. I tried it without grinding, but there's just not enough clearance between the zerk and the fan pulley. I used a mini-grease gun, and it was not a bad job after I made the tip fit.The only zerk I didn't grease was on the lower u-joint on the steering shaft. I'll have to tackle that one next time. I was a greasy mess when I got done! This was the first time in probably 25 years that I've done a complete grease job under a vehicle!

Enjoy your trip. By the way, most gas stations cut off at $75.00-$100.00. You just need to close it out and start a new transaction until you have the fuel you need.

I tried to start a new transaction, but that particular pump/station wouldn't let me. That's why I'll probably go somewhere else next time. GS

Where I refuel, it cuts off at $75, too. Since I'm a regular, I go inside prior to starting to refuel and tell them it's going to be more than $75, they say, "fine, pay in here when you are finished." Then they disable whatever it is that shuts off the pump at $75.

I'll try that next time. I am a semi-regular at this station -- don't use my truck much any more, but when I do need fuel I go to this station. They usually have the best diesel price in this area.
