Try not to put oil/grease down the sink drain while washing dishes! An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure

+1. We go through a lot of paper towels wiping our dishes clean before washing them.

Good advice Cliff! I'll start doing that occasionally!

My Wife's toothbrush. That and a bit of Dawn dish soap to break up any oil or grease that went down there

I'm curious why you want to clean it.

If you are like us and not anal about what goes down the drain, it is a decent idea to send some dawn down every now and then to break up grease that may accumulate on the bottom.

First off get a drain screen for your sink drains. About once or twice a year I use Theadford gauge cleaner, don't empty your tanks until they are at least half full if you can take them up to 3/4 or full then dump it will help. I use dawn dish detergent to wash the dishes and I've tried dumping a bunch down the drain but that didn't seem to help much. If all else fails you can get some one that cleans those tanks to go in with their high pressure system and clean everything out in both gray and black tanks. Remember there are multiple ways to reach the same goal. Good luck

We wash our dishes with Dawn and I've always figured there's enough soap going down there to keep it clean.
I thought maybe there was odors or something else going on.

As Pumper9X9 said, there are many ways to get this done.
I use a teaspoon of Happy Campers Powder mixed in hot water and pour it down each drain a day before or in the morning before we are ready to hit the road. I leave the Grey Dump closed so I have about a half tank or so and let that slosh around till we reach our next stop and dump the tank.
I always have some level in each tank when traveling that helps to keep them clean.
Once a year, I use the Happy Campers Extreme Treatment per directions. Have not had any odour or level indicator issues so for me, it works.
