Wow
the responses are great! I like the drive 55 one ...
The other possibility is to use a fan, there are many USB fans (cubicle fans) that move a lot of air and only use a USB battery charger (cell phone)...
but of course.... if you are boondocking.. you have time... and if you are in the desert... well...
Solar is the best dryer...

I tried that once when I was a kid. I had visions of beautiful hair. It was so insane when I got wherever i was that I wanted to crawl in a hole. I didn’t think hair could do that.
I just let mine air dry and pull it up. No fussing for me, it’s camping. Lol

It just takes a little longer for your hair to dry, but your coach will love it. I would just get the 1,000 Watt model - because we don't have that much time to waste.

Well, there’s hair and then there’s hair, mine does nothing good unless I blow it dry. It might scare the wildlife

Still going to suck your batteries dry, with boondocking and if using the dash on chassis power, you may not have enough to turn your engine over. Depleting the house overnight as well, could leave you without.
Our coach has a 2000 watt inverter, but still don't run any heavy loads for more than a few minutes, without the engine running.
Running the genset is what they're for, but again, once started, it take a while for recharging.

Well, first, thanks for all of your opinions on whether on not my desire to blow my hair dry while “camping” is acceptable. It’s my choice, so I have to deal with the issue. Thanks to those with suggestions on dryers or info on why using the generator is probably a better idea, that’s what I was looking for. I’m just going to use the genny for all of the good reasons mentioned. Thanks again.

All of these are great responses and I agree! I was thinking of the idea of holding your head out the window when driving too! Maybe that would work for washing your hair too if it's raining?

We raised 3 daughters.
My wife nor any of our daughters ever used hair dryers.
Still don't.

Our inverter apparently don't mind a hair dryer however normally we like to start the generator after 7 (quiet time over) and top off the batteries. Usually after all night heating and making coffee early the batteries need to be charged if we are staying another day. Perfect time to dry hair as well.
