Handicap Toilet 17 inches or higher?

Does anyone know if you can get a handicap toilet for a Thor Residency 1995? Need the toilet to be as high as possible - mobility issue. Any help appreciated.

Thetford makes a "riser" kit for their stuff. Only 2-1/2 inches higher, but it's something.

We just installed a Dometic Sealand 510+ toilet for what we thought was an exact replacement. To our surprise it was about 1.5" higher than our old one and measures 17" at the seat.

Check with the manufacturer of your toilet, or just search on the brand name, like Seland, or Thetford. You will find a variety of risers, and toilets of varying heights.

Several years ago I removed a Sealand 210 and put in the 510, I also installed the 2" riser at the same time. The riser had to come out. DW did not like sitting there with her feet swinging.

So yes, they make them.

Although they sell risers that sit on top of the toilet, be careful if you go this way as the seat in the RV is different from the home model. Why, who knows.

True story and I only laughed once.

To the OP, we were in a restaurant the other day, Ma & Pop type, and the restroom was "coed." The seat was raised by four fitted feet that sat on top of the porcelain bowl. First time I have seen that. It may be an inexpensive alternative.

p.s., If you come by my home abode when I'm there, I still have that riser and it's a giveaway.

Try Camping World. They had a sale on a quality toilet that was tall. I bought one by mistake and it was so high my feet wouldn't touch the floor.
