Has anyone tried Continental tires
I have a 2000 Holiday Rambler Vacationer on a ford f53 chassis with 245/70R 19.5 tires. It has good years on it now. just wandering if anyone has tried Continental tires or Hankook tires. An if you have had good service from either one of these two brands. I have only had the RV for 6 months an according to the tire date code these are the original tires. So being they are 14 years old its time for new ones. But good year is very high in cost an seen that a lot of you on here are getting away from good year. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have used Continental/General tires in regional fleet and city delivery operations. No particular problems or complaints - good tire and air pressure management are important with any tire you choose. FWIW, I used a General 11/32 tread depth new, trailer tire in the steer position for a mileage per 32nd test and realized over 30,000 miles per 32nd on a Class 8 tractor.

I was going to as their catalog showed the 305/70's I needed for the front of our rig. Then I found out they had not yet begun producing them and the only ones being made were Michelins, which is what I was going to buy in the first place.

I have used Continental tires on various vehicles for 40 years starting with the first one someone talked me into trying on my motorcycle. I replaced my front goodyear tires on my diesel pusher with continental tires and have about ten thousand miles on them with no problems and no apparent wear.

The school system I Drive for switched to the Continentals about a year ago .The drivers and mechanics have been well pleased with them.
I drive a forward control bus, they tend to be very heavy on the steer axle.My daily route( morning and evening run is 51 miles) has several miles of gravel roads and a couple of the turn arounds requiring lock to lock wheel turns while not moving. All these things combined tend to drastically shorten tire life.
The steer tires are replaced at 4/32 tread life remaining. My last set of Goodyears lasted just over 14 months. So far the continentals have performed well, and don't seem to be wearing as quick as the replaced set did.

Continental has always made a quality passenger tire and has been making truck tires for years. There are a lot of companies making truck tires that work well. Just make sure that the brand/size your buying is designed for the steer (front) axles. Some are made only for straight line travel.

Thanks for all the info. I have looked at both brands an both are steer/ all position tires 14 ply. Seems like everyone is getting good mileage an wear out of them an the price is a lot better than good year an Michelins.

I am currently running Hankook on my coach.
We bought the RV in June of this year. So far I have not complaints about the tires.

Thanks for the info. I have been looking at them to. Both brands seem to be close in tread design.

I put Continental HSR1 245/70R 19.5 in 2010 have about 6,000 miles on them never a problem, quiet, and side walls still look new. I normally run 85 in the front and 90 in the drive and tag tires. When it comes time I plan on buying them again.

I ran Continental steer's on my Semi in a OTR truck. Got great service out of them! I also changed to them on my trailer, because the Kelly's that came on it when i bought it were cupping very bad! The Continental's wore like iron, and i had many buddy's that saw how good they were wearing and changed to them to! They were all 22.5 tires. I would not hesitate to put them on my MH! It has the 19.5's too. They make a very good tire, and most are made in the U.S. plant in Mt. Vernon, Il.! Also, all their tires are spun and checked for out of round and balance before they leave the factory, I was told by their factory rep. I never needed over a ounce of weight on any of their tires! Most needed none! Rail!

I can't find Michelin's 315/80 XZA's; I am considering Continentals but concerned about the noise, ride and handling characteristics compared to Michelin. I had a '99 Eagle with Goodyears and hated them, switched to Michelin and what a difference. Anyone who has had Continentals after having Michelin's I would love your feedback.
