Headliner

I have about a 3X3 ft. area hanging down in the bedroom (still attached around the edge) Has anyone been successful in reattaching these headliners to the ceiling. Its that white fuzzy stuff. And what did you use that worked ??

It sounds like the carpeted ceiling I had in my former MH. Difficult stuff to reattach but my first step would be to see if applying heat to it will activate the glue they used. You have a pretty big loose spot so that may or may not work for you. Mine was a larger area. In my case, I had to make slits in the carpet and work in smaller sections, applying new adhesive (3M) and holding it in place until the glue dried. I used a plywood board and 2 x 4's to press the plywood against the ceiling. The next section I would be careful to fit the cut seam part together using carpet seam tape applied to the ceiling, heat activated by an iron, press the seam in place carefully. It took me a lot of time over several days but it looked fine when I finished.

Thanks Melmoses, I'll give your suggestions a try. I lived in Montgomery for 4 years while stationed at Maxwell AFB from 68-72 when I retired. Loved the town and the people. My family and I lived off base and got along just fine with the neighbors.many good memories... Always loved that southern hospitality.
