okay so I got done installing a Safe-t plus on my Allegro Workhorse 22, however not having a torque wrench, I just made everything as tight as I could. Anyway I'm sure this is not related but I pull out of the driveway across the road and no reverse!! I have a message on the dash says "Range inhibited" and the "check Trans lite is lit. Try to go foward no dice.. Now I'm sitting across the entire road with no foward and no reverse. Wholly panic. So I turned off the engine started it back up and regained control, seems to be fine now but Can anyone tell me why this happened and what does it mean. could it have anything to do with the install of the Safe-t-Plus? Should I postpone my trip?

Did you let all the warning lights on the dash unit go thru the self checks before you started the engine or did you just turn the key and start the engine. Sounds like the TCU didn't get a chance to do it's self checks before you selected a mode. Only a guess.....

Ya know... I really don't remember doing that. Its very possible. That would be a welcome relief if thats all it was. Thanks

Similar thing happened to me in my Workhorse. I thought it was a safety switch, turned out to be low battery. Once the engine ran long enough to charge the battery a bit, problem went away.
