I have not priced what you are looking at but it does seem a little high. Have you looked at NADA values for that year and model?

We recently moved to a 34' diesel MH from a 31' 5th wheel. I had no problmes driving or backing the combination. With that said, I love driving the MH, the wife loves riding in it, and it is easy to back in. I would probably not go back to a fifth wheel although at some point I might upgrade to a larger MH!

If you are comfortable with the price, maintenance, interior floor plan, exterior appearance, and its driveability, I recommend upgrading to a MH.

NADA is around $77,000 average retail for a 38 foot 1993 MONACO, CROWN ROYALE SERIES,
SIGNATURE 300HP.

Condition and maintenance records would dictate if it is worth it. I had a 1995 Winnebago Vectra Gasser and it never had to go into the shop for a major problem however my 2001 Adventurer has been in the shop longer than it has been in my driveway. The previous owner has a lot to do with it.

Regards,

Based on Neil's post the value appears to be there. If all else meets your approval then GO FOR IT !!

I also have caught the "Bug"!

My wife and I are considering an 06 Monaco Knight 40SKT.

To do that I will need to sell my 01 Cardinal 32 CKT (triple slide) and my 04 F-350 King Ranch dually.

Although I am NOT upside down on either the truck or trailer, I think a "private" sale would net more cash.

Back to the original poster. Do you have a shop that you trust to have it inspected (pointy end to square end)? If I were considering a 14 year old coach for that kind of money (and it may well be worth it), a thorough inspection couldn't hurt. Might cost a few bucks to save some potentially huge bucks.
