Doesn't make any difference if it's a 747 or a lawn mower, shut off the fuel and it won't run.

Had a run away diesel on a small sailboat and shut it down by stuffing a pillow into the air intake. Kind of hard to do that on a big diesel but as mentioned above either shutting off fuel or air will stop it.

just as above suggested, cutting off fuel is the simplest way. unthread one of the fuel filters just like how you change fuel filters when doing regular maintenance, engine should be starved to stop.

You are good! I was wondering the same thing. One time a relay sticks another it won't pull in? Maybe. If I knew where to look. I guess I need to buy a service manual for this thing.

How did you get it started last time? what did you find wrong? Did you get it shutdown?
As suggested above, call Tiffin/Freightliner and ask for them to sent you a wiring schematic for the "start" system". Once you have that info. with the help of a meter, you can chase down the problem.

Electrical problem - won't shut off

Found an inline fuse in chassis battery bay. Pulled it and killed the engine.
Basically it ran all night and finally stopped normally at one of our stops on our return trip today. Worked well until we backed in at home. Told DW "bet it doesn't turn off this time". It didn't and that's when I poked around some of the wire looms at the batteries. Pulled the fuse and it stopped instantly. It was a 20 amp fuse so that may explain the drain on those batteries.

To finish this thread.

Thanks for everyone's help!

I knew there had to be a relay somewhere that was failing if not failed already. I found it buried in the split loom that was accumulated and zip tied in a bundle at the chassis battery location. Acid and perhaps abrasion had worn through and corrosion had gotten in. Stopped at Oreilly auto part and they had a replacement.
Installed the new relay and it starts and turns off fine now.
Thanks
Scott

If we had any kahones, we would demand better design and assembly. But alas we are just grateful they dont charge us more for the rv.
