The electronics got cheaper since 2008 and most price classes today have electronic equipment similar to the mid-2000's high end, e.g. good inverters, power management, nice tvs, etc. The high end models still excel in cabinetry, furnishings, floor covering, etc. They also tend to have a larger, more capable chassis and engine that is generously configured to handle the coach body, whereas lower-priced models may skimp a bit on the chassis. That may show up as a lower GVWR, less tow capacity, and a lower OCCC rating.

Go to a Newmar dealer and compare the model lines side by side. Under the paint they're all built the same. Most of the differences (but certainly not all) have to do with what levels of luxury are installed. Bling in other words.

Functionally you'd get Cummins, Allison, and hung walls in any of them.

Are there differences in cabinetry and amenities? Absolutely. However over time the amenities move down thorough the lineup, so a late model lower price point coach can have many of the same conveniences as older higher end machines. And better technology in terms of powertrain electronics and infotainment as that evolves rapidly.

I debated the same question when I bought a year ago.

Ended up in a 2008 Country Coach after test driving it and spending time looking in all the nooks and crannies... in other words - the actual construction rather than the "glitz" on top.

I paid way less than the new ones - and put aside money to do repairs. Have had very little repairs so far, so began dumping some of it into niceties (reupholstering couches and captains chairs in a better color, added heated floor in my bedroom (the only part of my coach that did not already have heated floor), etc.
